Every year at Friss HĂșss, we showcase the short film culture of a country and invite experts from that country to the festival. Fresh Meat 2025 will showcase the best of Germany's short films through an exciting selection of films, and we will also organise a Producers' Forum for German and Hungarian producers.

The short film block "Stories from the Edge: Best of German Shorts" is a selection of short films produced in collaboration with Interfilm Berlin. The programme includes dynamic, provocative and fresh-voiced works that boldly tackle personal and social issues, often with an experimental and surprising formal language.
These films reflect the diversity of the German short film scene: from humour to drama, from animation to live-action, they cover a wide range of genres and styles. Not to be missed!

In addition to brand new Hungarian and international competition blocks, we are waiting for you with renewed thematic screenings and fun professional events! This year we are again preparing a wide range of events, including the now-famous pitch forum, professional round tables and workshops. As well as Queer Dreams, @Midnight and international documentary blocks, you can expect more surprises, such as our Weirdcore selection of out-of-this-world films.
In addition to all this, this year's spotlight will also be on our Fresh Stars, who will be revealed soon. Traditionally, we've chosen emerging young actors whose work we want to bring more attention to. During the festival, you'll be able to meet them on a variety of platforms, including a screening and talkback dedicated to them.
