Rounded band 30

VII Óbuda World Music Week in Kobuci Garden!

The journey of the two-time Fonogram winner Kerekes Band spans 30 years, from sultry Moldavian and Gyimes dance halls to world music stages. During these three decades, they have created a sound that is unmistakable on the national and international world music scene.

A pulsating tempo reminiscent of Moldavian music, complemented by riff-centric flute and cobalt themes, also known as Ethno Funk.

Experimenting from the start, the five-piece's sound, however, derives as much from rock music as it does from traditional pastoral music. Expanding the spectrum of flute sounds, Zsombor Fehér has studied not only Gypsy folk music but also the guitar sound of Jimi Hendrix at length to develop a psychedelic, riffy playing that gives the band its unique sound.

In the hands of Csaba Námor and Ákos Csarnó, the pulsating cobos and violas, trained in dance halls but fed by the energies of rock music, further enhance the ethno funk freed from the shackles of traditional music, which finally takes shape in the hands of the Hungarian stoner great Péter Sohajda and the two-four specialist Viktor Fehér.

Schedule

KACAJ is a folkpop band based in Pécs, Hungary, which started in 2020. Its speciality is that it is not only age-appropriate, but also covers a wide range of musical genres. From alternative rock to hiphop, the band's sound has many stylistic elements, and the link is Hungarian folk music. Their aim is to make our folk music values as popular and listened to as possible, thus reaching out to younger generations.

Their songs are progressive, yet in a pop music guise, in the form of joy music. Their vibrant, country energy guarantees a great concert experience. If you don't believe me, find out!
