Sam Lee
Singer-songwriter, folk performer, folk song collector, conservationist, bird fan gave an essential concert at the House of Music in 2022, where guitarist Bernard Butler, the founder of Suede, was also on stage with him. Lee has since made a new record, songdreaming, released in 2024, which happened to be produced by Butler. Sam Lee is now returning to the Concert Hall of the House of Music – who was here last time will come anyway, who was then behind can make up now.

Starting from the English folk tradition and the songs of the wandering gypsies, Sam Lee renews these song traditions, a singer-musician nominated for the Mercury Prize by Songlines, the most prestigious world music magazine of the year, crosses traditional singing with instruments and orchestrations, thus updating folk music in an original way. During the musician, the music teacher is very active in organizing the London folk concert life and also teaches in lectures, radio and TV in university departments. Last year’s LP further expanded Lee’s musical spectrum, with chorus, gospel, electric guitars with the Arabic plucking canun, and sounds intersecting with the Swedish special violin, nyckelharpa. This time, the guitarist-singer will take the stage with a violinist, a drummer and a pianist at the House of Music.
