Orbay Lilla Quintet

Lilla Orbay is a prominent young representative of the Hungarian jazz scene, bringing new color to it not only as a singer, but also as a composer and with her unique musical vision. Following the release of her solo album Gnamma in 2023 and the orchestral work Paradise Ablaze, she is currently working on a new album featuring almost exclusively previously unheard compositions. The aim of the album is to combine an intimate tone with a lively, improvisational sound. The mood of the material currently taking shape points towards a kind of innovative, atmospheric sound, in which the young musician feels he is on the right path towards musical fulfillment. Finding her own voice reached a new level this summer, when she no longer discarded her new ideas with doubt, but trusted them – we will be able to hear these ideas and this sound at the concert in September.

In June 2025, Lilla Orbay won the Petőfi Music Award in the "Discovery of the Year" category. During the same period, she graduated from the jazz singing department of the Academy of Music, while also completing the Bartók Conservatory's OKJ jazz piano training. She has performed with her quintet on international stages, including the 2023 EuroJazz Festival in Mexico City.
