OPERA is organizing the Prima Donnas concert series for the second time, and this year, in addition to the singers, two "Heroes" will also be joining them. It would be hard to find a more fitting hero than bass-baritone singer Gábor Bretz, who has performed in almost every major opera house in the world, playing a host of bass-baritone roles – and, incidentally, receiving the Kossuth Prize in 2024 after numerous other awards and recognitions. The singer has also appeared in numerous roles for Budapest audiences (Mephistopheles, Bluebeard, Don Giovanni, Escamillo, Philip II – and the list goes on), and this year he will be playing Colline in La Bohème.

Hungarian State Opera
The Hungarian State Opera House is the only theatre in Hungary with a large company, specialising in operas and ballets. The building is one of Budapest's most important 19th century monuments. It was built in neo-Renaissance style according to the plans of Miklós Ybl. The richly decorated interior was designed by renowned Hungarian artists, including Mór Than, Károly Lotz and Bertalan Székely.
