The last painter of beauty: Adolf Fényes. Lecture by art historian Gábor Bellák

He was born in the year of the Compromise and died at the end of World War II. Adolf Fényes embodied the entire era, his work reflecting the cheerful sense of security at the turn of the century, the despair following the collapse of Trianon, and the desire for calm between the two wars. His art is great art, which was never modern, never avant-garde, never stirred up storms, but always spoke of the most important things in the noblest way.
