Jonathan Roy
The Canadian singer-songwriter who almost became a hockey player is back in Budapest – Jonathan Roy at the A38 Ship.
Jonathan Roy returns to Budapest after two years to present his new album to his Hungarian fans. After his hugely successful concert in 2024, everyone can look forward to another moving, intimate evening on February 3 on board the A38.
"Every song is a journey inward, I want people to feel that they are not just listening to the songs, but experiencing the story with me," says Jonathan about his approach to music.

Schedule
Anyone who has seen the performer live has experienced this: the songs really come to life at his concerts, Jonathan's energy is supported by his professional band, transforming each venue into a sanctuary of storytelling and spiritual journeys.
This will play an even stronger role on his newly released album, Symphony of Doubts, as Jonathan himself admits that he is not only making music here, but also writing experiences.
"It was very important for us to make this album with the band. We wanted to capture the magic that happens during our performances, where everyone feels the energy and connection with the audience," says the singer-songwriter, who has been actively serving his fans since the release of What I've Become in 2009. His debut album was quickly followed by a second, and then in 2011, his first French-language album, La Route, was released. This year's Symphony of Doubts brings his number of albums to seven, making him a contender for the title of most prolific hockey player, as Jonathan's musical journey has not always been straightforward. As a child, he believed he would become a professional hockey player like his father, NHL legend Patrick Roy. In the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, it seemed that Jonathan would continue the "family legacy," but his true passion for music emerged more and more strongly, so he hung up his skates and set to work to let the world know the pieces of his soul.
Every stage of this journey can be found in his songs. Symphony of Doubts, filled with honest lyrics, heart-wrenching vulnerability, and sweeping melodies, clearly redefined Jonathan Roy's sound and broadened his audience. The fact that he made the right decision is clearly demonstrated by over 120 million plays on Spotify and over 300 million on YouTube, his gold records, and his ever-growing fan base.
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
