Szelektor 26
FOR THE FOURTH TIME, WE’RE LOOKING FOR THE MOST EXCITING NEW HUNGARIAN MUSIC
If until now you’ve only been writing tracks for your desk drawer, but you feel like you’re finally ready to blast their contents onto the world’s eardrums, then we’re here: enter the fourth SZELEKTOR competition for a chance to be featured on the next Electronic Beats compilation!
We launched our first competition in 2021 to showcase emerging talents even amidst the coronavirus chaos, because we believed that the taps of creative juices should not be shut off even in times of restricted life. The initiative was such a hit that we repeated it twice since then, and each time a thousand or more tracks were submitted — and after long, debate-filled jury sessions running into the night, compilation albums took shape: here’s the first one, here’s the second, and here’s the most recent.

Schedule
And now we’re once again very curious to see where creative energies are flowing. Whether it’s synthy dreampop hummed into home microphones, potential summer house dynamite opening up dopamine vaults, grinding electro, massive jungle, or experimental layered noise-making — we’re open to everything. All you have to do is send us the track you believe is worth submitting.
Be brave and send it in! Let yourself be motivated by the fact that several artists from previous albums experienced the selection as a springboard — and have since embarked on some great career paths.
So here’s the point: we’re accepting applications until midnight on February 11, 2026, in the categories of forward-thinking pop, club, and experimental music.
In addition to the members of the Hungarian Telekom Electronic Beats team, colorful figures of the music industry will also take part in the evaluation, and the talents who make it onto the three genre-specific albums can once again expect rewards that may boost their future development as music creators: what’s already certain is that a MacBook Pro — highly suitable for crafting music — is waiting for its new owner, and we’ll also arrange debut festival performances for each of the winners.
It’s time to pull out those half-finished tracks, dust off your stems, and finish whatever needs finishing — we’re waiting for your most exciting music. APPLY HERE, and tell your musician friends too!
Budapest
The best things to do in Budapest! Several medieval bridges connect the 2 sides of the city that give it its name: Buda and Pest. Cruising along the Danube is a great way to see Budapest in all its glory.
