Khirki is an Athens-based trio that straddles the line between rock 'n' roll and traditional music. They take their name from Circe, the famous sorceress of Greek mythology, who used her magic potion to turn Odysseus’s crew into animals. Similarly, the band has created a unique “potion” that blends elements drawn from metal and rock culture (Kvelertak, Mastodon, Tool, etc.) with Eastern and Balkan melodies, while preserving the raw, uncompromisingly heavy character of their music.
Their debut full-length album, ΚΤΗΝΩΔΙΑ, was released in 2021, immediately captivating the metal community and receiving rave reviews in the domestic and international press.
In 2024, they returned with their second album, ΚΥΚΕΩΝΑΣ, which exceeded all expectations and secured Khirki’s place on the global metal map.
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
