2026-03-08T18:00:00.000Z  -  2026-03-14T20:00:00.000Z

Stern Lili – performer, choreographer, arts manager, and drama instructor – pauses for a moment to reflect. At the place where it all began: the Bethlen Theatre. These three evenings will be more than a series of performances; they are the retrospective of an artist who has now come of age, looking back on the past ten years and on her own story of growing up.

Stern Lili – 10th Anniversary Performance Mini-Festival

📅 March 8, 12, 14, 2026 · 7:00 PM

📍 Bethlen Téri Theatre

“I started creating at the age of 16 out of institutional rebellion. Over the past ten years, this resulted in nine performances and many other projects. Together with my collaborators, we will now present once again—and for the last time—the three works that are closest to my heart and most beloved by audiences."Stern Lili

Program

🗓 March 8 – SKIZOFRÉN (with Sára Fodor)

Exactly ten years after its premiere, Stern’s very first performance returns to the stage—the piece she created at the age of 16 with Sára Fodor. Skizofrén reveals the tangible imprints of a split inner consciousness, the search for identity, and mental breaking points.

🗓 March 12 – LOOP POOL (followed by a post-show discussion)

Stern’s most successful solo from 2019 is back after seven years. Loop Pool examines body image disorder, anorexia nervosa, and the paradoxes of self-control. Intimate, radically honest, raw, and visually striking, the performance uses the body simultaneously as medium and subject.

🗓 March 14 – UNDERDOG (Special Edition)

Premiered in November 2024 and renewed for 2026, this solo performance explores social marginalization, grassroots survival, starting from disadvantage, resilience, and the act of asking for help. A personal confession about Stern’s past abusive relationship, the piece invites the audience into their own reflection while confronting Stern’s unique movement and performance language.

BIO

Stern Lili has been working as an independent creator since the age of 16. Over the past decade, she has created nine full-length performances, including solos, duets, large-ensemble, and participatory works. After studying at the Madách Dance School and completing a BA in Drama Instruction at the University of Theatre and Film Arts (SZFE), she gained further education and experience in the United States. Two years ago, she consciously returned to Hungary to help shape the independent performing arts scene not only as a creator, but also as an organizer and manager.

Her approach to art and organization forms a rare intersection where ambition, diligence, stubbornness, strategic thinking, and deep human curiosity meet. Through open rehearsals, direct communication, and post-performance discussions, Stern’s credo is clear: “creation and organization” are tools for maintaining an ongoing dialogue.
