Balatonboglár’s Gömbkilátó
This is an observation tower which makes it quite difficult to observe anything from up here. You can never drive past this sight of Balatonboglár since it looks like a giant military radar or a UFO. Situated on the top of Várdomb in the middle of the city next to main road 7, it seems to be quite easy to reach, still, the road to here is a bit tangled. Gömbkilátó is a spectacular iron structure; it's just that its parts always block some of the view no matter where you look. The landscape is still breathtaking though. You have to pay an entry fee, but there is neither a toilet, nor a bar here. You have to settle for the iron. It is surrounded by a nature protection area, which is perfectly suitable for a picnic.
