Schedule

On December 10–11, a small truck roamed the streets of Budapest, and people could read aloud from A magyar nemzet biztonsága (*The Security of the Hungarian Nation*) on its flatbed, transformed into a living-room setting—celebrating the author’s Nobel Prize.

The organizers condensed the 24-hour event into a 7-hour film, which will have its first (and perhaps last) screening at the Bem Mozi on February 20 at 5:00 PM.

Everyone is warmly welcome—those who participated in the 24-hour reading, those who wanted to but couldn’t attend, and anyone curious to experience a 7-hour audiobook. Visitors will also have the chance to chat, meet others, and reminisce.

The film was created with the permission of the author, László Krasznahorkai. The recording and editing were done by Dániel Fiantok.

Bem Cinema

In January 2016, the 108-year-old Bem Cinema will reopen its doors to the public, in a new way never seen before in Hungary: as a cinema of cult and classic films (no harm!), or as the educated French say (if you know your English): as a "repertory cinema".
