Don Broco & Sleeping With Sirens, special guest: Ocean Grove
Rock and its subgenres from the US-Australia-Britain axis.
A quite exceptional American-British-Australian collaboration, or mini showcase-fest, under the umbrella of rock, nu-metal, electronic-, pop-, alt-rock, post-hardcore, pop punk, screamo, and post-emo. It's a fun, three-act head-shaking dance with a guitar-driven tempo and swagger throughout, but thanks to each band being a little different, there's no danger of getting bored by them.
And where does the fun come from? There's plenty of humour in the image of Don Broco, and their song titles are just as reminiscent of the long, ironic song titles of early indie, folk-punk and screamo bands. The dinosaur-crocodile symbol is also a good gag, could even be a mascot for the entertaining band and reflects the youthful craziness of their songs. Ocean Grove, providing a fresh surprise, is a beach-surfing joint jam by three eccentric twenty-somethings, and Sleeping With Sirens provides a halfway serious but equally blood-lusting spin in between.
Akvárium
As they describe themselves, it is Budapest's most frequented venue, which is also multifunctional. Akvárium is great for award ceremonies, afternoon coffees and, most importantly, concerts, thanks to the well-picked, cross-genre selection.
