The film tells the story of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who, together with his colleagues - including Hungarian-born Ede Teller and Leo Szilárd - is responsible for creating the first nuclear weapon as leader of the Manhattan Project. The invention changed the course of history in World War II, and it was probably thanks to the bomb that the Cold War, the confrontation between the two great superpowers in the second half of the 20th century, did not escalate into a real armed conflict.
