Californian-born singer-clarinetist Holland Andrews began to emerge in the mid-twenties, first in small Portland indie-folk bands and then solo as Like a Villain, multiplying his voice with choral vocals, playing with medieval and contemporary classical elements, sometimes ethereal, sometimes experimental chamber music.

He changed his birth name after the 2019 album What Makes Vulnerability Good, which is now all chamber pop with artpop arrangements, but still focuses on his vocals, which are still incredibly powerful, and his latest releases have been released as Holland Andrews. The 2021 EP, Wordless, is more electronic ambient, with the vocals taking a back seat here and there, or sounding very distorted.

This minimalist floating music has been his trademark ever since, and on his latest EP Doubtless from 2022 Nils Frahm makes a guest appearance, and as the title suggests, Andrews has found his way again - and Frahm's presence is more than telling, we'll be hearing more from Holland, he'll be making his Hungarian debut at the right time.
