Lee Hee-moon is a skilled transmitter of Korea's 57th intellectual cultural heritage, the art of folk song in Gyeonggi (pronounced Kjanggi) Province. He is an artist who, undaunted by the challenges of the contemporary application of traditional arts, has persistently created a unique artistic genre based on the folk songs of Gyeonggi Province. He is a tireless creator, regularly coming up with new performances. His wide-ranging repertoire is inspired by Gyeonggi Province folk songs, which he uses as a leitmotif to experiment with combining genres.

His work has succeeded in bringing traditional vocal music back to the centre of the performances, giving the audience the opportunity to rediscover the joy of listening to folk songs. As the lead singer of her 2017 group SsingSsing, she was invited to perform on the US NPR radio station's Tiny Desk concert series, where her performance was well received.

The title of the current performance, "NAL Project", condenses a variety of meanings: in Korean, it can be the spoken linguistic form of the object-form of the personal pronoun "I" ("me"); the thinnest, sharpest part of an instrument ("live"); or a prefix referring to raw, natural, unworked materials. This condensing title alone suggests that NAL is a project in which the artists sing for themselves, with their heads held high, avoiding cliché. By abandoning melodic instruments, NAL (陧) uses only rhythm instruments.

The project features traditional Korean performance art expert Park Bum-tae, who has been performing at shamanic rites for over 20 years, playing janggun (pronounced changgu), Han Woong-won, a central figure in the jazz scene, on drums, and electronic sound effects master Shin Won-young.
