Golden Age - Requiem

The Hungarian State Opera has a long tradition of staging a funeral mass, which many consider to be a "funeral opera", on the All Saints' Day holiday. Giuseppe Verdi's large-scale Requiem is an opera composer's heartfelt stage music, mixing tragedy, pain, hope and consolation - in operatic style, in Verdi's language, from heartbreakingly intimate moments to shocking tableaux.

The performance is not recommended for children under 10.

INFORMATION ABOUT STANDING PLACES IN CASE OF A FULL HOUSE

If all seats are sold out for the selected date, but you wish to see our production on that day, we will start selling 64 of our very affordable standing room tickets for the 3rd floor balcony 2 hours before the performance. Tickets can also be purchased at the Opera House box office and online. Please note that there is limited visibility of the stage from the standing and side seats, but there are also monitors on site to help you follow the performance.
