11. POLSKA JAZZ FESTIVAL | TOMASZ CHYŁA QUINTET: MUSIC WE LIKE TO DANCE TO (PL)

Five years ago, we introduced the Tomasz Chyła Quintet as one of Poland's most promising bands, and since then they have risen to the forefront of the scene as a witness to the resurgence of young Polish jazz. In their concerts, the group's sense of simple forms and melodicism blends perfectly with the incredibly expressive virtuosic playing of the soloists and the open, energetic improvisations of the band. Their musical vision is masterfully honed by violinist/bandleader Tomasz Chyła, who works in brilliant symbiosis with his musician friends on an instrument seemingly uncommon in jazz. Winner of the Grand Prix at the international Jazz Juniors competition, the members of the ensemble have played with such notable musicians from their home country as Leszek Możdżer, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jerzy Małek and Maciej Sikała. At this concert, they will present their fourth studio album Music We Like To Dance To, whose vibrant atmosphere will saturate the listener's body and soul and make them dance without being noticed.
