Schedule

Leto, the band's frontman, has achieved a historic feat, becoming the first person to climb the Empire State Building. Since childhood he has always been fascinated by this amazing building, as he put it. As an avid mountain climber, the Empire State Building and a world tour both carry the same feeling that anything is possible if you try."

The tour kicks off in Latin America with festival appearances such as Lollapalooza in Chile, Argentina and Brazil, and Estéreo Picnic in Colombia and Tecate Pa'l Norte festival in Mexico. The band will then relocate to Europe, where they will play a total of 28 concerts in major cities in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Portugal. The show will then continue its tour of North America, where it will be seen in 24 of the biggest arenas, and the band will be joined by AFI, Poppy and KennyHoopla as support acts. Finally, the tour will conclude with 4 arena shows in Australia and New Zealand.

The multi-platinum selling Thirty Seconds To Mars, made up of brother and sister duo Jared and Shannon Leto, are back with a huge hit with their sixth studio album It's The End Of The World But It's A Beautiful Day, released on 15 September. The album heralds a new era for the band, one that not only explores people's bad experiences, but also shows hope as a reminder that even in the face of seemingly impossible obstacles, we can find beauty in the world. The first single, Stuck, immediately opened at number one on the US Alternative radio charts and reached the top 10 in Italy, the best opening chart result of the band's career. The new song Seasons, which has been consistently in the top three of the German playlists and is also the title track of the tour, raises the question of whether we can accept change as we go through life's many seasons.

Location

MVM Dome

MVM Dome is the seventh largest indoor event venue in Europe. Its capacity for sports events and concerts is significantly higher than that of the Budapest Sports Arena. It has 20,022 seats; a total of 50,000 square metres of floor space; innovative, rearrangeable spaces for many indoor sports (handball, basketball and volleyball, futsal, ice hockey, tennis, skating) as well as certain athletic, equestrian and motorcycle competitions, and even swimming competitions and water polo matches in the mobile pool. Through the six entrances to the building, spectators can enter the arena’s interior using eight escalators, leading to the walk-through grandstands accessible on three levels. The structure of the building’s exterior is reminiscent of muscle fibres: the light strips placed on the outward-leaning, elliptical sections not only embrace the building, but the light shows, programmed using various colours, appear to set the entire building in motion. There is a 600 square metre display on the façade of the building. The Main Entrance leads to an impressive foyer, where visitors will be greeted by a grandiose hanging light installation of 848 handmade glass tubes. The programmable sports lighting is also suitable for HDTV broadcasts of the highest-level world competitions, as well as for super-slow-motion recordings due to flicker free technology. The lighting system also plays an important role in the events and concerts, as it is suitable for changing the colour temperature of the auditorium, which means that the lighting functions can be changed without rearranging the arena, only through the pre-programmed lighting controls. This design is the first and is unique in Europe for luminaires of this power. A central display (cube) provides information in the auditorium during the events.
