Henri Gonzo és a Papírsárkányok /Guest: Noémo

As the leader of Fran Palermo, Henri Gonzo has been a key figure in the local pop music scene for more than a decade. But after his band's highly successful third album in 2020, he needed a change, which led to a new formation. Henri Gonzo and the Paper Dragons, with a classicist attitude and a poetic demand - and this is particularly important - are trying to find a new voice with lyrics in Hungarian after Fran Palermo's English-language songs. In addition to the material from her debut LP A Cementkert, released in May 2023, this concert will also feature new songs and guest musicians.

Compared to the rocky, danceable, energetic world of Fran Palermo, with its English-language songs that have been successful at festivals, Henri Gonzo and the Papírsárkányok invite you to join them with classical instrumentation - and even musicians who have studied classical music - poetic lyrics in Hungarian, and a quieter, more introspective musical world. The core of the band began to take shape in early 2021, with a month-long, intimate but still less purposeful songwriting process that Gonzo experienced in a small castle apartment in Buda, together with two of his fellow musicians, keyboardist Zazie Farkas and bassist Issiaga Camara.  The songs slowly but surely began to take shape as the band began to come together. Farkas, a graduate of the Academy of Music, was joined by classical musicians (a cellist and a percussionist), Gábor Árvay from Fran Palermo, and another guitarist, Máté Németh. Henri's lyrics are inspired by a wide range of literary influences, from György Petri to Arthur Rimbaud to ancient Greek poems, and the music is an inspired blend of pop and classical.
