The sad occasion for the last film club of the year is the tragic death of Zsolt Palotai, aka DJ Palotai, in mid-November. One of the most influential figures of the Hungarian electronic music and club scene, one of the most well-known DJs in Hungary, he has left us. György Czabán and Csilla Győri's short film celebrates the ecstasy, cult and Hungarian underground subculture that surrounded him.
"Kossuth Prize for Zsolt Palotai!" demanded the audience in front of the Tilos Radio tent on Sziget in 1997. Zsolt Palotai started his career as a disc jockey at Tilos az Á, but today he is the pope of DJs. The son of an Olympic champion football referee, he has inspired many young DJs at Tilos Radio and at parties. His performances often put a whole new spin on an event. When asked about his style, he said free style.
