Pestilence is a Dutch death metal band formed in Enschede in 1986. During their existence they have undergone various member changes, with guitarist-singer Patrick Mameli being the only permanent member.
After disbanding in 1994 to pursue other musical directions, Pestilence reunited in 2008 and went into "permanent fold" in July 2014. However, the band reunited in October 2016. Pestilence has released nine studio albums to date, and in addition to the "Big Four" of progressive death metal, they are joined by Death, Atheist and Cynic.

Carnation
Over the past decade Carnation has been at the forefront of the revival of old school death metal. There's something to be said about how artfully they take something so primitive and cross that fine line between maintaining its classic authenticity without sounding tired or dated. Carnation has always walked this line, infusing a fresh and contemporary approach without losing the contemporary traditions of the genre. However, the band's third attempt means that Carnation completely erases these boundaries, abandoning all convention while moving into bold new territory.
Bodyfarm
Formed in 2009, Bodyfarm started life as an old-school, classics-oriented death metal band. Today, they perform as a new, massive four-piece line-up with a bit more black metal influence than in the beginning. Although their line-up has changed a lot over the years - mainly due to the tragic loss of founder Thomas Wouters in 2019 and the amicable parting of long-time drummer Quint Meerbeek - Bodyfarm is as committed to their core ethos as ever. Now, with the imminent arrival of Ultimate Abomination, Bodyfarm is poised to assert its dominance on the death metal scene once and for all.
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
