Skemer (BE)
VHS samples of machine chains and horrendous screams mixed with analogue synths, noise and industrial beats. On 16 February, we bring you a real crazy dark-wave, post-punk, EBM night in the bowels of the A38, where Belgian SKEMER and American MVTANT unite to present their fresh and crunchy new albums one by one.
Skemer was formed by vocalist Kim Peers and guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove in 2019 and quickly realised that their individual strengths complemented each other perfectly.
Two very different worlds collided, resulting in a minimalist darkwave deconstruction, all elements of which are brutal and erotic.

Mvtant (US)
"A degrading culture that is eternal. The weak are godly, and sin is life."
MVTANT started out as a cassette industrial project: motoric waves pulsing from analogue synths, dreamy primitive digital synths softening the top, vhs samples of chains and screams generated from 12-bit machines, recorded on mono cassettes via tape recorder.
In addition to classic post-punk, industrial and ebm artists, MVTANT is heavily influenced by horror and science fiction films, anime, literature and comics.
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
