The band leader György Pataj graduated from the jazz department of the Liszt Academy of Music in 1997. After winning prizes in talent competitions in Hungary and abroad, he has played with such renowned Hungarian musicians as Aladár Pege, Imre Kőszegi, Gyula Babos and the Cotton Club Singers over the past decade and a half. He founded his own orchestra in 2009, which after a few changes of members has been established with four outstanding musicians of the Budapest jazz scene. The ensemble represents the hard-bop trend of the 60s and 70s: their sound faithfully reflects the world of the bands led by the genre's most prominent personalities (Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, McCoy Tyner, Lee Morgan, Benny Golson, Cannonball Adderley).
