The members of Doltang have come together from five different parts of South Korea to combine influences of jazz rock, prog rock and 21st century classical music in a traditional show. The band unleashes their emotions in easy-to-sing melodies, while the complex rhythms underneath also seek to reflect the complexity of our modern world. Led by Seoul-based pianist-composer Yong Lee, who has developed his own contemporary language based on the foundations of improvised music, the band has wandered the fields of acoustic and electronic soundscapes. Doltang's first album, Surface of Time, featuring compositions by Yong Lee, was released in 2021, and a new album, Invisible Worker, is due out this year.
