Budapest Klezmer Band
Two iconic Budapest bands will take the stage on June 24 during the Óbuda World Music Week. Budapest Bár and the Budapest Klezmer Band will demonstrate in a single evening how café-style Roma jazz and klezmer music weave together into a shared narrative. The two bands come from different traditions, yet draw from the same source: that diverse musical heritage in which melancholy and unbridled joie de vivre coexist.

Schedule
Budapest Bár evokes the nostalgic, hit-filled world of old Pest coffeehouses with the participation of Dóri Behumi and Misi Mező, while the Budapest Klezmer Band, as one of the most prestigious local guardians of the Eastern European Jewish musical tradition, creates a festive and danceable atmosphere. The idea for this joint evening is not without precedent: the Budapest Klezmer Band’s 2025 album *Klezmer* provided the impetus for the two groups to develop a joint concert program. In recent years, this show has been performed almost exclusively in synagogues, and now it takes the stage at a pop music venue for the first time. What makes this concert special is that we will be joined for the evening by László Fekete, the chief cantor of the Dohány Street Synagogue, whose voice makes this gathering even more personal and uplifting. We are in for an evening where the two ensembles will not only perform side by side but together, bringing to life the musical world that has defined Budapest for centuries.
Kobuci kert
World music evenings, jazz stories, underground, folk music in all its forms and some very serious blues. All this at Kobuci, one of Budapest's best outdoor venues with a garden.
