Neo-Nazi Adam is sentenced to 12 weeks of community service. He must serve his sentence in the community of the kind-hearted priest, Ivan. The group of oddballs looks on with curiosity at the newcomer, whose goal is subversive—he sets his sights on the pride of the parsonage garden, the apple tree, intending to bake an apple pie. But despite Adam’s determination, the apple tree’s fruit is vulnerable to attacks by birds and worms, and to make matters worse, it is struck by lightning. Ivan believes the devil is messing with them, but Adam thinks it’s all God’s doing, since evil might not even exist.
