Schedule
He is currently studying with Frans Helmerson at the renowned Kronberg Academy. Pejčić is a true explorer who, in addition to being a committed chamber musician, constantly pushes genre boundaries with his interdisciplinary projects. For his recital at Müpa Budapest, he will evoke the spiritual power of music by performing on a 1694 Guarneri cello. His programme, entitled Prayer to Ecstasy, spans from Bach through Bloch and Ligeti to contemporary works by Ana Sokolović and Giovanni Sollima as he seeks to build a bridge between the earthly and the metaphysical worlds. The soloist enjoys a close professional relationship with the composer Đuro Živković, who has also written the new work commissioned by ECHO for this occasion.
Nominated for the Rising Stars programme by: Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Palau de la Música Catalana
