As one of Iceland’s most successful exports, singer-songwriter Ásgeir has always pushed the boundaries of his folk-pop style. His debut album, *Dýrð í dauðaþögn* (Dýrð í dauðaþögn), became the best-selling debut album in Icelandic history, followed in 2014 by its English-language version, “In The Silence” (In The Silence). He further refined his sound with 2017’s “Afterglow,” “Bury The Moon” (2020), and “Time On My Hands” (2022), which garnered worldwide acclaim from the press and radio, including The Independent, MOJO, NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash Magazine, BBC 6 Music, and Radio X.

In recent years, Ásgeir has also performed as a solo artist, giving nearly 70 intimate concerts across Europe, the Nordic countries, and Iceland, including a UK tour with the Icelandic singer GDRN. He has also performed with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and recorded a live performance for Arte TV in Berlin. His passion for live music has taken him to unique venues, including small churches, deepening his connection with his audience. He wrote a song for a Kafkaesque play performed at the Reykjavík City Theater. Its title is *Sýslumaður Dauðans*.
Ásgeir is currently working on his next album, focusing on a fresh approach to songwriting; he’s bringing melody and personal storytelling to the forefront, exploring themes of relationships, aging, hope, and nostalgia. His influences range from Leonard Cohen and Daniel Lanois to contemporary artists such as Adrianne Lenker and Dina Ögon.
The making of the album was a hands-on process; Ásgeir played most of the instruments and collaborated with a select group of musicians, including Nashville cellist Nat Smith. The songs, recorded both solo and with a band, capture an organic, heartfelt energy. With this new chapter, Ásgeir continues to evolve, offering music that is as introspective and polished as ever, as well as deeply resonant.

A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
