Schedule
The ensemble has won numerous major awards and performed in prestigious venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall and Vienna’s Musikverein. Their repertoire extends from the cornerstones of the string quartet literature to contemporary works. Their Budapest programme reflects this diversity: alongside one of Joseph Haydn’s late string quartets, they will perform the 20th-century Polish composer Grażyna Bacewicz’s neoclassical String Quartet No. 3. A recurring feature of the Rising Stars concerts is the presentation of a new work commissioned by ECHO; in his work, the young German composer and conductor Oscar Jockel interprets silence not as the absence of sounds, but as their source.
Nominated for the Rising Stars programme by: Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein Wien, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
