Ava Bahari is currently the resident artist of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Now a sought-after soloist, her Rising Stars recital will paint a comprehensive picture: on her 1694 Stradivarius, she will trace back through three centuries of evolution in violin playing. Her solo recital will begin with J. S. Bach’s Partita performed with a Baroque bow and proceed through works by Eugène Ysaÿe and Grażyna Bacewicz before arriving at the present day. One of the concert’s most exciting moments will be a new work commissioned by ECHO from one of Sweden’s leading composers, Anders Hillborg. The evening promises a virtuosic exploration of the outermost expressive possibilities of the instrument.
