Premiere: Testbe öltött gondolatok

These everyday, practical experiences reveal the many ways in which the lives of artists who grew up within the company are interconnected. Over the years, these experiences have shaped generations of dancers, from beginners to performers who reveal themselves on stage, and from accomplished artists and choreographers to outstanding founders and company directors, as well as dedicated educators who have guided generations of young people.

Looking back and reflecting on these three and a half decades, we consider our greatest achievement to be the impact we have had on hundreds and thousands of audience members, both in Hungary and abroad, through the company’s performances.

The Budapest Dance Theatre has performed on four of the five continents, sharing its artistic philosophy – an ethos expressed in every moment of its existence, from the first drops of sweat shed during the initial training session to the rising of the curtain. It is a philosophy rooted in responsibility, a love of life and a deep respect for humanity.

To attempt to distil this rich and extensive journey into a single performance requires profound and dedicated creative work. We must do justice to our profession, our existence as artists, and every leading and supporting performer who has contributed to this journey.

I, Béla Földi, founder and director of the Budapest Dance Theatre, can promise that this celebration will be a worthy and enduring performance that creates lasting artistic value. It will mark another milestone in the long journey the Budapest Dance Theatre has built so far. I trust that this milestone will inspire renewed strength and faith in our company, as well as in the audiences who have followed us and supported us throughout the years.
