Best Of Diploma 2026
Year after year, “Best of Diploma” is one of the most important events of the end-of-academic-year period at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, and, just like last year, HAB is hosting it again this year. The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of the diversity of art education at the university and provides insight into the mindset and creative approach of the next generation of artists.

From among the graduating students of all the university’s departments, a professional jury selects the graduation projects that, in addition to their outstanding artistic quality, sensitively and authentically represent the university’s spirit as well as the young artists’ individual perspectives.
This year’s graduation projects strongly explore themes such as the search for identity, mental and generational trauma, body image, memory, and the relationship between technology and humanity. Their works simultaneously reflect the anxieties of the age and the hope that the honest articulation of personal experiences can forge genuine connections. Their works not only pose questions but also express a desire for a more sensitive, more humane world.
In selecting the best graduation projects, the professional jury considered high artistic and technical standards to be the primary criterion. The decision was based on a comprehensive evaluation of the works’ conceptual strength, technical execution, and the research background behind them—the theoretical foundation outlined in the thesis—thus the exhibition presents those works that most fully represent the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts.
