Budapest, November 4, 1956. István Köves and László Bodor bury their weapons under the cover of night, on the ruined street. He leaves the country in a red cross truck. His wife is left alone with her two sons, Gábor and Dini. At the beginning of the sixties, Bodor, who was released from prison at the time, appears with them. He will be the new head of the family. Gábor is preparing for medical school, although he knows that he has little hope of admission because of his father. Dini is a high school student. She is in love with Magda Szukics and stares at fourth-grader Pierre. Rock and roll is played at school proms, and Elvis is idolized and imitated. Dini is plunged into a deeper and deeper crisis by his unfolding emotions, the compromising admonitions of his foster father and many other contradictions in the adult world. After Pierre is expelled from high school due to a scandal, Dini and Magda set off with him to the West in a stolen car.

Bem Cinema
In January 2016, the 108-year-old Bem Cinema will reopen its doors to the public, in a new way never seen before in Hungary: as a cinema of cult and classic films (no harm!), or as the educated French say (if you know your English): as a "repertory cinema".
