Visszaesők, Weinkillers

Visszaesok:

The sort of music Gabi Tóth might well have turned to had she sought refuge from reality in folklore and alcohol rather than adultery. A group photo that was never taken, but the outfit looks bloody brilliant on her. That feeling when, after a wild night out, in the morning, the dried-up booze on the corner of your mouth, and the smell of dry red wine and strong pálinka covering your shirt and the poncho you’ve used as a blanket from top to bottom, induces joy rather than the urge to vomit. Visszaesők is that party you weren’t invited to, but where you’re still welcome; where, as the evening draws to a close, you confess to the aesthetically pleasing green-haired girl that you play the guitar, and she, without hesitation, rips the burgundy braces off your hemp trousers with her teeth. A name that has now shed its musty cellar smell and found its way into our hearts.

Schedule

Weinkillers:

Imagine travelling on a flatbed lorry one summer evening

from Veszprém to Révfülöp, and your mate seriously claims

he saw a ‘Weinkillers’ sign by the roadside.

You brush it off, as even with a wine-fogged head that’s not a normal thing to say, and the next day it turns out that, with his rusty German, he’d misread the ‘Weinkeller’ sign. The phrase, however, sticks in your head so firmly that you decide to name your band after it.

Location

Három Holló

Contemporary culture at the Pest foot of the Elisabeth Bridge.
