Polska Jazz | O.N.E. Quartet (PL)

The name of the Polish acoustic quartet, O.N.E., is ambiguous: in Polish, the word is the feminine form of the pronoun ‘they’ – a fitting reference to the all-female line-up – whilst in English, of course, it signifies ‘one’. Both meanings reflect the band’s egalitarian approach and their collectively crafted sound. Their third album, entitled *Well, actually…*, was released in October 2025. Rooted in the spirit of democracy and collective improvisation, the album features the four members’ own compositions, which blur the boundaries between the lyrical qualities of modal jazz and the raw energy of free improvisation. In the dialogue between four distinct temperaments and musical interests, modern jazz meets tradition, lyricism meets humour, and structured forms meet spontaneity.
