"How does a dancer (State Folk Ensemble, Budapest Dance Ensemble), and later an actor (Madách Theater, Interoperett, National Theater), one of the lead roles in 1,359 performances of the musical *Cats*, a professor at the University of Theater and Film Arts, and subsequently the director and artistic director of the Csokonai Theater in Debrecen (2001–2006)—from the ballet barre, and then, after a split-second decision, borrow a backpack and set out to fulfill his childhood dream of climbing the 5,895-meter-high Uhuru Peak on Kilimanjaro under the guidance of Zsolt Erőss, our legendary mountaineer? And then, with his own backpack, continue his exploratory journeys through 47 countries—including Panama, the mysterious Mount Athos, Greenland, from Syria to Saudi Arabia, or even spending eight months in the wilderness of the United States, from Mexico to Canada?

What keeps him going? Where does he find the motivation and strength for his hikes spanning thousands of kilometers—with just a backpack and a tent—through snowstorms and windstorms, knee-deep mud, pouring rain, the bone-chilling cold of ice fields, or even the scorching heat of the desert, not to mention his encounter with a black bear? What helps him get back on his feet in difficult moments, and from what does he draw strength again and again on the path toward his goals? How has he managed not to lose the thirst for adventure that still glows within us as children, nor the ability to dream big with courage, and how did he trade the glittering world of the theater for the silence of nature, and how did she learn to live in harmony with nature, to listen to the snowflakes, or to discover the magical shapes of the clouds—and why does she feel that mastering this knowledge is as rewarding as the thunderous applause at the end of a performance?

Humor, adventure, tears, excitement, motivation, lessons, and dazzling footage alternate in his presentations, showing what we can gain if we dare to dream big, set a goal, take action, and fight for it—no matter what obstacles await us along the way."

Madách Theater

There is still an “era” in the Madách Theater. The era of the rise and success of musical theater. The change began in 1983 with Cats, whose decades-long series of success provided a solid foundation for the next defining step: the legendary 2003 performance of The Phantom of the Opera. Both performances were directed by Tamás Szirtes, who was elected director of the Madách Theater in 2004. Under his direction, the Madách Theater embarked on a path that has resulted in a successful musical theater of outstanding quality. World-famous musicals line up in his program, which are usually in large blocks, so-called they are staged according to the en suite playing order, and each performance remains on the show for years. The basic aim of the theater is to give the viewer the same experience even after 10 years as at the premiere.
