This interactive guided tour explores the intersections between contemporary art, cultural anthropology and fashion research in the Ludwig Museum’s exhibition *Black Mirror: The Long Shadow of the Future*.
Led by Dr Ildikó Tamás, participants will explore how the works of art reflect the social desires, fears and visions of the future, as well as the cultural and technological changes that shape our relationship with our environment, our identity, our body image and the way we dress.
The guided tour interprets the exhibition’s dystopian visions of the future through, amongst other things, the cultural and social role of fashion. It will explore the changing spaces of urban life, the relationship between technology and everyday culture, new forms of social coexistence, and the way we dress as an expression of identity and our visions of the future.
The works in the exhibition also offer an opportunity to view fashion not merely as an aesthetic phenomenon, but as a sensitive mediator of social norms, power relations, ideologies and visions of the future.
This dialogue-based programme invites us to reflect together: what is the relationship between the present and the future, and between people and technology? How are these themes manifested in contemporary art and the culture of dress? And how is fashion – much like art – capable not only of reflecting the changes of our time, but also of foreshadowing the potential challenges of the future?

Ludwig Museum
The Ludwig Museum - Museum of Contemporary Art, located in Müpa, is the first museum in Hungary to exclusively collect contemporary art. In addition to a permanent exhibition of the collection donated by the Ludwigs and a number of temporary exhibitions, the museum aims to raise awareness of the works and their creators through special publications and a variety of art education and art education programmes.
