A new line-up, new energy – the HangaBanda dance house series is kicking off!
We warmly invite you to join us in bringing the most beautiful string music traditions of the Carpathian Basin to life! On the first Tuesday of every month, Szabadkikötő is transformed into a hub for spontaneous music-making, carefree dancing and a genuine sense of community.

What do we promise you?
- Authentic live music, where the melodies resonate directly with your steps and movements.
- Alongside well-known rhythms, we also bring you, on request, music from lesser-known regions that are real treats.
- An open, welcoming space where musicians and dancers, attuned to one another, become a single, pulsating community.
Our aim is for you not merely to be guests at Szabadkikötő, but members of a close-knit family with whom we share the pure joy of folk music and folk dance.
The proceeds from the dance evening go towards the musicians’ travel expenses, for which we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! With your support, you are helping to ensure the survival of live music in Hungary.

Community space and all the extras to make you feel good!
The Free Port is a place where knowledge, experience, feelings and ideas can be freely exchanged over a coffee, a concert, a performance and/or a children's party. That's how it really works here! It's worth getting to know the double face of the place, dominated by kids by day and drinkers by night, with programmes open to all ages. Bring your four-legged pet, they're welcome too! And our kitchen prepares a lactose and gluten free menu every weekday, available from 11:30am.
