Zanox (2022)
Homemade spirits of dubious origin cause a lot of headaches, but an experimental drug called Zanox makes time travel possible. What’s more, unlike other booze, it doesn’t send you forward in time—it sends you back to the past. This is exactly what happens to Misi, who, instead of a hangover the next morning, finds himself facing his high school graduation exams once again.

Taking advantage of this unusual situation, Misi gains the courage to make a move on Janka, with whom he’s long been in love; he tries to prevent a murder; and he reviews the history topic he’s going to be tested on. What he doesn’t realize, however, is just how many things need to fall into place for him to truly make the most of his day, all while the fuel for time travel—the homemade brandy—is running dangerously low.
Benő Baranyi’s first feature film is a comedy interwoven with elements of romance and science fiction. *Zanox – Risks and Side Effects* was produced as part of the National Film Institute’s Incubator Program.
