Andrei Tarkovsky’s masterful sci-fi film *Stalker* has, in the decades since its release, become a timeless classic—much like *Solaris*, made seven years earlier. Winner of the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the 1980 Cannes Film Festival and rich in powerful symbolism, the film shifts the setting from deep space to Earth—specifically to the "Zone," a mysterious place that defies the laws of nature. Only Stalker knows the path leading there, a route fraught with traps and obstacles; with his guidance, a Writer and a Professor seek to reach a room where every wish comes true—though each man desires it for a different reason. Throughout their journey, the question constantly looms over them: what is it that they truly desire?
