dj sniff (JP) / yibai (HU)
Budapest-based artist Dávid Gerlei, best known under the name yibai, primarily creates experimental ambient music. At Lumen, he will present his latest work, *Homing Beacon*, created during his residency in Bratislava, for the first time in Hungary.

His albums were released by EXILES, Temporary Nites, and Dióbél, and he has performed at venues and festivals including House of Music Hungary (Budapest, opening for Ryoji Ikeda), SHARPE Festival (Bratislava), Kabinet Múz (Brno),
Fuchs2 (Prague), Kaņepes Kultūras centrs (Riga), and Japan’s very own Tobira Records (Kasai). He also composes music for film, dance, and theatre. In the summer of 2026, he was a resident artist at A4 – Space for Contemporary Culture (Bratislava, Slovakia); his performance at Lumen will mark the Hungarian debut of his residency project, ‘Homing
Beacon’.

dj sniff (Takuro Mizuta Lippit) is a musician and curator in the field of experimental electronic arts and improvised music. His work builds upon a distinct practice that combines DJing, instrument design, and free improvisation. Over the years, he has collaborated with Evan Parker, Otomo Yoshihide, Koichi Makigami, Jaap Blonk, ErikM, Paul Hubweber, Tarek Atoui, Ken Ueno, and Senyawa. Numerous festivals have featured his work including: CTM Berlin, Warsaw Autumn, FlowFestival Helsinki, March Meeting Sharjah, Jazz em AgostoLisbon, REWIRE Den Haag, Taipei Arts Festival, LACMA, and Taipei Biennial. Musical compositions and recordings by dj sniff have been released on various media formats from labels in Lebanon, U.K., France, Germany, Slovakia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Japan.
