Baraka. An ancient Sufi word that can be found in many languages. Its meaning is blessing, life essence, meaning of being, soul, from which the evolutionary process begins. There can only be one real question: the interaction of our planet and the people living on it. The baraka sheds light on the innermost essence of things.
The film takes us to 69 locations in 24 countries on 6 continents - from Japan to Kenya, Tanzania to California - and we fall into as many different places as possible on Earth. The spatial and temporal journey creates huge contrasts between each other, it shivers and delights at the same time. On the one hand, the landscapes, different human cultures and religions presented in a photographic manner collide, and on the other hand, the ancient, pure world and today's damaged, overcrowded world create tension in this impressively displayed work. Human civilization comes under the magnifying glass from a new approach, the depiction without dialogue conveys even more that we humans are nowhere near perfect.
