Giacomo Puccini: Pillangókisasszony
2026-07-21T16:00:00.000Z
The story of Cio-Cio-San and Pinkerton stands out even among romantic tragedies. For Madame Butterfly, who regards her “temporary marriage” as a genuine emotional and legal bond, death is the only way out after she loses the last shred of hope. It has been said of the work that inspired the libretto that “if the drama were set in a non-exotic location, far from us, this pain would be unbearable.” Puccini’s magnificent music elevates the tragedy to cathartic heights.
