Pásztorhóra

Five virtuoso youngsters who bring a touch of Moldavia to the city with their strange instruments: they are the PásztorHóra!

Since their formation in 2014, the band has moved at least 10,000 people in more than 100 venues in four countries. Their first full-length album, released this year, is a fitting summary of their five years in the business. It's been years in the making, so it's also a record of the band's career so far. Interoperability between styles is the band's trademark. The members have individually dabbled in countless styles from oldies to jazz, pop to metal.

PásztorHóra's distinctive, modern image and ideas are not without their roots: their repertoire includes compositions from the violin collections of band leader András Bergics. One of the orchestra's specialities is its instrumentation, which is different from the currently active flute-oriented Moldavian orchestras. The orchestra's combination of violins, cimbalom and cobalt traditions, and two bagpipers in a single harpsichord, all serve the original Moldovan traditional sound.

Musically, they are united by their love of Moldavian folk music, spiced up with their own impressions, ideas and experiences, proving that folk music can be both historical and contemporary. With their multifaceted personalities and their exhilarating concerts, they create a unique atmosphere, a magic that, once you are captivated, never lets go.
