Mesterházy • MZ/Y

On Mesterházy's record shelves you can find almost every style of music, as well as in the DJ bags he has been carrying to clubs, festivals and illegal parties for the third decade. Around the turn of the millennium, he became nationally known for his unique mixes of electronica, pioneering the Hungarian breakcore-jungle scene, and the main trail of his sets is a chemistry-based mix of "old school" electro, acid and Detroit techno. He's thrown himself into, left behind, reshaped and innovated from countless projects. His Syrup.hu record label and club night is one of them, but he also hides behind the pseudonym Mesterháza with experimental and film soundtrack works, and he is also the improvisational acid-electro synthesizer artist MZ/Y. For the evening, he's preparing a thematic selection summarising the genre history of IDM.
