microdosemike
microdosemike released their first album in 2022, and Ekhidna, released towards the end of 2023, is an organic continuation of this. The wind instruments bring mainly oriental and Balkan melodies in a way that they can blend together in the blink of an eye. The rhythm section provides a jazzy-funky pull throughout, while the guitar adds a rocky, psychedelic flavour, as well as a more or less African influence. Their songs are 8-12 minutes long, but don't be alarmed, because they keep the momentum going and keep your attention - although it's true that it's the mood, the energy, the drift that remains afterwards, rather than the specific songs and melodies.
