The Pontiac

Playing melodic rock music, The Pontiac has been an active part of the local popular music scene since 2017. Their first material was written in English and was more in the blues tradition, they switched to Hungarian in 2020 and this change has influenced their music. Of the songs in their native language, the breakthrough was clearly Az lenne csak szép (It Would Be Only Beautiful), whether in terms of popularity on video-sharing sites or in the rotation of Petőfi radio. The band has toured as support acts for Margaret Island and Blahalouisiana, in addition to their festival appearances.

In October 2021, they released their second (and first Hungarian-language) album, Jöhet velünk bárki, and in early 2022, the band's frontman Barnabás Nagy was nominated for the Petőfi Music Award in the Male Artist of the Year category.

They took part in the Yettel Stage's talent development programme, which included the release of their new song and video, Csak a csend van (Only Silence Is), which was also featured on Petőfi Radio for several weeks and reached number 4 in the Hungarian charts. Also in the framework of the Yettel Stage project, they performed at the big concert in Szabadság Square in the company of Majka, Punnany Massif and Margaret Island.
