Iron Maidnem Tribute Band

Miska and Töfi started to play Maiden songs in 1986 and in 1996 they came up with the idea to create a tribute band, which would play only Maiden songs, as close as possible to the original versions. The first draft setlist consisted of 30 songs mostly from the five classic albums, but also included some songs from the first two albums. These 30 songs seemed like a distant dream at the time, because while learning the songs it soon became clear that it was no easy task to perform Maiden songs faithfully. Patrik Bozsik, who had previously sung in the Nottingham band in Szolnok and then played with Töfi in Macbeth, joined the group for the first time. There it became clear that he could sing Maiden very well, so it was obvious that he was worth a try. The name of the band comes from him, by the way. Soon after, Béla Boros on bass and Béla Baráth on drums joined the band. The first few concerts were played with this line-up, and then Béla Baráth was replaced by Gabi Urbán, who had also played with Töfi in Machbeth and, earlier, with Miska in Exit. In 2001, keyboard player Áron Hidvégi joined the band, as more and more synth songs were being played at parties, so a permanent keyboard player was needed to play these songs live. Few people know, but since 1986 a synth has been playing at Maiden gigs, but he's hidden under the stage sets, so he's not a permanent member. He is also Steve Harris' roadie. Later Gabi Urbán was replaced by István Dér (Bambi) on drums, and after a few years Gabi Urbán was back behind the drums again. In 2003, a new singer joined the band, because Patrik Bozsik was less and less able to play because of his job. In 2006, a new drummer joined the band again, Gábor Krecsmarik, who also plays bass in Nemesis and had already joined Maidnem a couple of times before. It's a bit difficult to define who is the permanent drummer and who is the backup drummer in Iron Maidnem, but the above order is pretty much the same, although besides Gabi Krecsmarik, Miklós Ratkai (Retek) of Akela has often helped out the band.
