Ørdøg
Ørdøg is Superbutt's post-2005 line-up: the András Vörös sing Hungarian-language songs in a modern rock/metal guise.Their first album, "Tíz fekete dal" (Ten Black Songs), was released in 2014, and the subsequent "Sötétanyag" (Dark Material) in 2017 showed the band's profile more fully. The band took a huge step forward songwriting-wise on that album and this trend continues on "Ø3", released on 6 November.
The five-piece brigade, which has been together for a couple of years, has developed a very distinctive sound and message: the music is a kind of modern rock/metal with a bit of an alter/grunge flavour, while András Vörös' lyrics are recognisable from a thousand miles away. The poetic giants of Hungarian literature (Sándor Weöres, Attila József, István Örkény) are invoked in turn, but unlike the references in Thy Catafalque, it is not some kind of mythical childhood dream world that is formed in the songs, but contemporary Hungarian reality, with all its negativity, bittersweet everyday life and phenomena.
